The Hymn of the Month: "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less" by Edward Mote, 1797-1874, Composer: John Stainer, 1873, arr. Tune: "Magdalen" Lutheran Worship #368 (also The Lutheran Hymnal, #370) 1. My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus’ blood and righteous; No merit of my own I claim, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. 2. When darkness veils his lovely face, I ret on his unchanging grace; In every high and story gale, My anchor holds within the veil. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. 3. His oath, his covenant, his blood, Sustain me in the raging flood; When all supports are washed away, He then is all my hope and stay. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. 4. When he shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in him be found, Clothed in his righteousness alone, Redeemed to stand before the throne! On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. |

The Prayer of the Month: O God, now that You have reassured us of the completion of our salvation through the Resurrection of our Lord, give us the willingness to show in our lives what we confess with our lips. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. AMEN! |
